Long Beach's aviation/aerospace industry continues to be a major force in the local economy, driven by the city's largest employer, The Boeing Company, and other manufacturers based in the region. The Long Beach Airport is home not only to Boeing facilities, but also to corporations such as Gulfstream Aerospace, Toyota affiliate AirFlite and United Technologies. Epson America's U.S. headquarters is located on airport property, too. The airport proper is home to 200 general aviation, corporate and commercial airline businesses, while dozens of other firms are located at Kilroy Airport Center and the Long Beach Airport Business Park. Toyota, Snugtop and several other West Long Beach companies round out the city's manufacturing portfolio. Additionally, Long Beach Airport accommodates 41 daily nonstop commercial flights to destinations such as New York, Washington, D.C., Chicago, Salt Lake City, Dallas/Ft. Worth, Phoenix, Las Vegas and Oakland. Passenger traffic is estimated at approximately 3 million people per year.
Distribution – The Long Beach Business Journal is mailed to nearly every business at or near the airport. In addition, well over 1,000 copies are distributed to Boeing executives and employees at the firm's various facilities. Approximately 1,000 copies are currently picked up by airline passengers at the airport's two terminals. The LBBJ provides year-long coverage of the airport, with a special issue focusing on the industry produced annually.
Also featured in this issue are A Guide To Long Beach Area Office Space and Dollars & Sense.
