ACTA CEO To Address Port Officials
John Doherty, CEO of Alameda Corridor Transportation Authority (ACTA), will deliver a presentation on corridor activities, rail volumes and the beneficial environmental effects of moving cargo by rail to the Port of Long Beach Board of Harbor Commissioners. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. today (August 25) at the Port Administration Building, 925 Harbor Plaza.

MTA To Host Meeting On I-710 Corridor Project
The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) will host community meetings to discuss the environmental impact report for the I-710 Freeway Corridor Project. One meeting is scheduled for 6-8 p.m. on August 25 at the Silverado Park auditorium, 1535 W. 31st St. Another meeting is scheduled for 6:30-8:30 p.m. on August 26 at the Dana Branch Library, 3680 Atlantic Ave.

Councilmember Bonnie Lowenthal To Host Two Back-To-Back Meetings
First District Councilmember Bonnie Lowenthal will host two meetings on August 26. The first is scheduled for 5:30-6:30 p.m. and will cover budget issues that will impact 1st District residents. The second will be from 6:30-8 p.m. and will discuss the proposal to close the Main Library. Fire Chief Dave Ellis To Address East Anaheim Street Business Alliance
Long Beach Fire Chief Dave Ellis will speak at the next monthly luncheon and business meeting of the East Anaheim Street Business Alliance. Ellis, who joined the Long Beach Fire Department in 1982, will discuss the latest updates and developments within the department.
